SpaceX Super Intelligence launched Grok Voice 3.0, the speech model already answering about 20,000 Starlink calls a weekday and talking with drivers in Tesla cars. Grok Voice 3.0 answers Starlink calls and Tesla drivers
On Oct 14 SpaceX Super Intelligence launched Grok Voice 3.0, a speech-to-speech model ranked first on Artificial Analysis's Speech-to-Speech Index at 86.9 (ahead of GPT-Live-1 at 83.2 and Gemini 3.8 Live at 82.6). Starlink call centers use it for about 20,000 support and sales calls on a weekday across multiple languages; roughly 70% are resolved with no human in the loop, and about one in four English sales calls ends in a purchase. In Tesla cars it handles millions of conversations a day — trip planning, climate, calls, and Grok Bot voice mode. The Voice Agent API stays at $0.08 a minute. Still unknown: how much subscription and API revenue the new model adds, and whether containment rates hold as volume grows.

Ukraine: StarShield motion service restored after speed-limit scare
On Oct 15 a Ukrainian Defense Ministry source told the Kyiv Independent that StarShield service while on the move "has been restored and remains operational," a day after units reported a 100 mph (160 km/h) motion limit that disrupted drone missions. Former digital minister Mykhailo Fedorov said connectivity up to 160 km/h was being restored and asked that the speed limit be removed entirely. Musk wrote on X that StarShield systems are owned and controlled by the US government, with any speed or usage limits decided by the US military and ultimately the president — and that commercial Starlink is limited to civilian or defensive use. Still unknown: whether every restriction is gone, and who ordered Wednesday's change.

Texas Cybercab count hits 349 after another 30 registrations
Late Oct 14 Texas DMV records showed Tesla Robotaxi registering 30 more 2026 Cybercabs, lifting the state Cybercab count from 319 to 349. Model Y robotaxis stayed at 420, for 769 autonomous vehicles on the Texas list. Trackers (Texas AV Tracker / Robotaxi Pulse) and Sawyer Merritt reported the batch; TxMCCS TruckStop shows the new Cybercab VINs under Tesla Robotaxi, LLC. Austin remains the only city with public paid rides; Dallas is still "soon" per Ashok Elluswamy. Still unknown: how many of the 349 are in active paid service versus testing or staging.

Starlink is live in Curaçao
On Oct 14 Starlink posted that high-speed, low-latency internet is now available in Curaçao. Minister Charles Cooper said the government had signed the telecom concession on Oct 7 and called the service start a historic day for the island. Local users reported they could activate subscriptions; Starlink has not published local pricing in the coverage we checked. Still unknown: take-up on the island and how Starlink prices against cable providers.

Roadster reveal streams tonight at 7:55 PM CT
Tesla confirmed the next-generation Roadster event streams live Thursday, Oct 15 at 7:55 PM Central from a SpaceX site in the Waco / McGregor area — the rescheduled date after the Oct 1 outdoor demo was called for weather. The 2017 prototype promised 620 miles of range and under-two-second 0–60; Musk has since teased a SpaceX cold-gas thruster package and a redesigned car. Reservations remain $50,000. Still unknown until the stream: production timing, price, and whether any flight demo happens.
