Tesla's Robotaxi opens in Fort Worth, its seventh city
Tesla's Robotaxi account posted late on Nov 1 that rides in Fort Worth, Texas start at 6 AM on Nov 2, making it Tesla's fourth Texas city after Austin, Dallas and Houston.

Tracker Sawyer Merritt and EVwire, reading Tesla's launch map, estimate the service area at about 143 square miles, the third largest after Austin and Houston; Tesla itself gave no size, and Merritt counts Fort Worth as the seventh US city with no one in the driver's seat. Tesla did not say how many cars serve the city, what rides cost, or whether a safety monitor rides along, and the Dallas and Fort Worth zones are separate for now. For scale: Waymo, the biggest US rival, said on Oct 27 it is adding nearly 250 square miles across five metros, Electrek reports Waymo at more than 500,000 paid rides a week in 15 metros, and Toyota said on Oct 30 it will build bZ4X robotaxis with Waymo's hardware installed on the factory line, starting with tests in Japan in 2027.

Reported: SpaceX is in talks to buy Boost Mobile or use its network
The Washington Post reported on Nov 2, citing people familiar with the talks, that SpaceX has discussed buying EchoStar's Boost Mobile or getting access to its network to launch its own Starlink-branded phone service.

Boost does not own most of its network: it leases capacity from AT&T and T-Mobile, so the Post says the plan may need those carriers' consent. EchoStar had about 7.38 million wireless subscribers, mostly Boost and Gen Mobile, at the end of Q2 (Reuters), and the Post says Musk met EchoStar chairman Charlie Ergen last month. SpaceX and EchoStar did not comment, and no deal or price has been announced. What it means: a possible shortcut to millions of US customers, after Verizon and T-Mobile said in late October they would not rent their networks to SpaceX.

Reported, unconfirmed: Musk may let TSMC build and run the Terafab chip plant
DigiTimes, a Taiwan trade paper, reported on Nov 1 (Nov 2 Taiwan time), citing supply-chain sources, that Musk has softened his stance and is preparing to reopen Terafab talks with TSMC, the world's largest contract chipmaker.

According to the report, as summarized by Benzinga, talks could move toward TSMC taking main responsibility for building and running the plant, with ownership and investment still being worked out; Musk had said last month that Tesla and SpaceX would build and run it, with TSMC at most renting part of the site. TSMC's CEO said on Oct 15 that any plant it joins "has got to be run by TSMC." Tesla, SpaceX and TSMC did not comment, and the report does not say what happens to Intel's role. Treat it as unconfirmed until Tesla, SpaceX or TSMC confirms it.

Musk says Grok's always-on AI agent cost more to run than it earned
Replying on X on Nov 1 after users said they were hitting weekly usage limits early, Musk wrote: "The cost of serving Grok Bot was unsustainably high relative to revenue."

The agent runs long, multi-step tasks for paying Grok subscribers, which uses far more computing than a normal chat. Musk did not give cost or revenue figures or say exactly what changed, and The Verge reports the limits appear to have been tightened. What it means: tighter limits should improve margins on this paid product, but they risk annoying the subscribers this bet counts on.

Tesla has its best October ever in Norway and jumps in Sweden
Tesla registered 1,548 new cars in Norway in October, up 131% from a year earlier, its best October on record, and was the country's top-selling brand with a 9.8% share (OFV data via Reuters, Nov 2).

Registrations also rose 248% in Sweden and 34% in Denmark, though in Denmark Tesla had only a 0.73% share, behind BYD, Leapmotor, Xpeng and MG. Reuters says easier comparisons with a weak October 2025, higher fuel prices and incentives helped, and Chinese brands hit a record 22.5% of Norway's new cars. These are small markets; the bigger European and China numbers for October come out over the next few days.

Reported: SpaceX tells NASA Moon lander makers it won't sell them rides
Ars Technica reported on Oct 29, citing three unnamed sources, that SpaceX recently told companies building small robotic Moon landers for NASA's CLPS program (Commercial Lunar Payload Services, where NASA buys cargo deliveries to the Moon) that it will not provide them launches.
At least two of these companies had price estimates or launch agreements with SpaceX for Falcon 9 rides later this decade. SpaceX has not commented and is still honoring existing contracts. It fits a pattern Ars and analysts describe: SpaceX steering its launch capacity toward its own Starlink and AI satellites and away from outside customers, while Starship is not yet offered as a regular commercial ride.
